Myrtle Jeanette Wallace, 91, of Sinking Springs Road, Clinton, died Jan 18 at Regency Health Care Center after a long illness.
Mrs. Wallace was born March 31, 1902, in Anderson County to W. D. and Mary Etta Carden Wallace.
She received her education at East Tennessee Teachers College in Johnson City and taught school at Belmont Grammar School, near Andersonville, and at Glen Alpine Grammar School.
Mrs. Wallace was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Her husband, Francis Glenn Wallace, died Nov. 29, 1989.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Luke (June) McWane of Clinton; Mrs. Ralph (Jo Ann) Porter of Norris; grandchildren, Wally and Kay Porter of Claxton, Penny and Richie Crabtree of Clinton and Melanie McWane of Clinton; great-grandchildren, Samuel and Aaron Porter and Kaylee Crabtree; brother-in-law, Robert Worthington of Clinton; sisters-in-law, Beth Robins of Clinton, Mary Splittgerber of Norris and Hazel Wallace of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were incomplete at press time. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
