Elsie Amelia Avent, 83, of Chattanooga, died Sunday, March 17, 1996, in Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mrs. Avent was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, Clinton. She was a seamstress and enjoyed gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert I. and Minda Partin Baugh; husband, Dallas G. Avent; and brother Everette Baugh.
Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Anne and Hack Davis of Chattanooga; son and daughter-in-law, William Hubert and Glenda K. Avent of Denver, Colo., grandchildren, David J. Davis of Tampa, Fla., Deanna Swank, Dallas E. Avent, Darla Hamilton and Dawn Tyler of Denver, Colo.; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters, Lessie B. Wright of Winston-Salem, N.C.; nieces, Patricia Rotan of Florence, S.C.; and Carol Nazzaro of Leeds Point, N.J.
Funeral services are being conducted 11 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 1996, in McCarty Woodhaven Memory Gardens, Claxton. Family received friends 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, in Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, Clinton..
