Stella Jane Ward, 94, of Briceville, died Tuesday in Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mrs. Ward was of the Baptist faith and member of Walden’s View Baptist Church. She was a life-long Briceville resident. Her hobbies included gardening and doing yard work with flowers, family members said.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nancy Jane Duncan; daughters, Randy Wilson in 1972, and Veda Jane Ward in 1987; son, Cecil Ward, who was killed in World War II; and her husband, the Rev. Lewis Ward, who died in 1974.
Survivors include sons, Carl Ward of Briceville and Clifton Ward of Lake City; half-brother, Jacke Wilson of Maryville; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 2 pm Friday in Tennessee Hollow Baptist Church with the Rev. David Walker and the Rev. Johnny Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Circle Cemetery.
Family will receive friends 7-9 pm Thursday in Martin Funeral Home chapel, Lake City.
Martin Funeral Home of Lake City is in charge of arrangements.
