Obituary of John Moses Foust, 1911:
The remains of John Moses Foust, 23 years, who was killed in Southern Railway yards at Jellico, Friday, July 28 were brought to Clinton Saturday morning and removed to the home place near Offatt on Clinch River, where services were held Saturday afternoon.
Foust was a flagman on Jellico local and while switching in the yards fell to the track between two cars. One car passed entirely over him, severing both legs above the knees, mashing both hands and bruising his face and body. He was placed on a passenger train for Knoxville hospital, but died before the train reached Newcomb.
Deceased leaves a widow and four small children residing at Oakwood.
