Mack Robbins

Retired from Union Carbide

Mack Robbins, 85, a resident of Briarcliff Health Care Center, died Sunday, May 25, 1997, at the health care center.

Mr. Robbins retired from Union Carbide Nuclear Division in 1972. He worked as an oiler at the Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion Plant.

Born May 18, 1912, in Wilder, he was the son of Calvin and Lilly Copeland Robbins. He was a member of Frost Bottom Missionary Baptist Church near Oliver Springs.

Mr. Robbins is survived by his wife, Leona Mitchell Robbins of Oliver Springs; a brother and his wife, D.C. and Wanda Robbins of Chestnut Ridge; and a granddaughter, Ruth Marie Robbins of Oliver Springs.

He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Ruth Lawson of Oliver Springs; a brother-in-law, Roscoe Mitchell of Clinton; and by several nieces and nephews including Danny Mitchell and Billy Joe Mitchell, both of Oliver Springs.

A son, Raymond Robbins, died in 1990.

The funeral will be at 8:30 tonight, May 26, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Garvan W. Walls Jr. officiating.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church cemetery in Oliver Springs.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the mortuary.
