Main Library hours: Monday – Thursday, 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Sunday, 2 p.m. – 6p.m. The library is closed on Sundays from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.
The Oak Ridge Public Library is a full-service library with public-access computers with internet access and provides remote access to the internet for library patrons who hold library cards. The library also provides free Wi-Fi and has copy, printing and fax services. A microfilm reader/printer is available.
The Oak Ridge Room is located in the Main Library and holds an extensive collection of local history and genealogy materials. This collection covers the pre-1942 communities of Elza, Scarboro and Roberstville in Anderson County and the Wheat community in Roane County as well as the City of Oak Ridge. For a more complete description of this collection, please see the library’s website. In addition, the reference stacks hold a collection of print material on Anderson County and its communities. The library also has The OakRidger on microfilm and maintains extensive vertical files. Oak Ridge Public Library does not have any Anderson County records on microfilm.
