Obituary of Ardelia Phillips Wilson, 1974:
Mrs. Wilson leaves 113 descendants. Mrs. Ardelia Phillips Wilson, 83, wife of the late Henry C. Wilson, died of a heart attack last Thursday in Lake City Hospital.
Mrs. Wilson resided in the Wye Community, Lake City Rt. 2. Her husband, a coal miner, died in October of 1966.
She had been a Christian for more than 60 years. Mrs. Wilson belonged to Laurel Branch Baptist Church.
Mrs. Wilson headed a four-generation family of 113 descendants. She was the mother of 10 children, had 42 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren.
Her five sons are Hubert and Eugene Wilson, both of Lake City; Thomas and Clarence L. Wilson, both of Tooele, Utah, and John L. Wilson of East St. Louis, Ill. The five daughters are Mrs. Alice Seiver, Mrs. Elizabeth Bailey and Mrs. Ruth Lindsay, all of Briceville; Mrs. Louisa Sharp of Lake City and Mrs. Tennie Siler of Oliver Springs. Other survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Emma Jane Scott and Mrs. Hannah Henry, both of West Virginia.
Services were held Saturday at Laurel Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Daugherty and the Rev. Moss Beets officiating. Burial was in Circle Cemetery in Briceville.
