Obituary of Edith Seiber, 2002:
Edith Seiber, age 69, of Lake City, passed away Friday, March 1, 2002, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
She was born April 5, 1932, in Anderson County.
She was a member of West Side Baptist Church. Edith loved going to dirt track races, gardening in her flowers and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by: Parents, Ike and Mary Patterson Phillips; husband, Jessie Seiber; brothers, Edd Phillips, Amos Phillips and Fred Phillips; grandson, Rickey Christopher Dacko.
Survivors: Children, Helen Lane and husband, Bill of Lake City, Bobbie Braden and husband Larry of Lake City, Bob Seiber of Lake City, Carolyn Dacko and husband Rickey of Houston, TX, Edd Seiber of Lake City, Dessie Carroll and husband Eugene of Lake City, Charlie Seiber of Lake City, Clyde Seiber of Lake City, Jessie Lyndon Seiber and wife Charlene of Lake City; grandchildren, Tanya Miller, Stacy Meredith, Davey Roach, Jessica Dacko, Michael Dacko, Butch Oliveira, Jackie Seiber, Kristen Seiber; great-grandchildren, Brittany Meredith, Noah Roach, Chloe Roach; brothers, Byrd Phillips, the Rev. B. Ray Phillips, Laymon Phillips; sisters, Dessie Gibson, Wilbia Bunch; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation was 6 pm Sunday, March 3, 2002, at Cox-Martin Funeral Home. Funeral service was 8 pm Sunday, March 3, 2002, in the Cox-Martin Chapel with the Rev. B. Ray Phillips and the Rev. Archie Seiber officiating.
Interment was 2 pm Monday, March 4, 2002, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City.
Pallbearers were: Curtis Phillips, Chet Seiber, Barry Phillips, Terry Phillips, Junior Gibson and Gray Bunch.
Cox-Martin Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
