Tallie Eugene Holt, 63, of Oak Ridge died in the early morning of July 15 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge after a short illness.
He had been a maintenance carpenter with the American Museum of Science and Energy since 1955.
Holt served in the Pacific theater of the U. S. Army during World War II and was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Oak Ridge.
Holt, who was born in Tullahoma, was preceded in death by his parents, Minnie Bell Davis Holt and Odell Holt.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Duty Holt; two sons and daughters-in-law, Russell Holt and Tallie E., Jr. and Nuan Holt, all of Oak Ridge; four daughters and sons-in-law, Rachael and David Henderson of Milpitas, Calif., Linda and Albert Bass of Clinton, James and Jeff Garner of Clinton and Eleanor and Robert Pullen of Oliver Springs; a sister, Christine Waddle of Oak Ridge; a brother, Robert Holt of Tullahoma; 16 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was handled by Weatherford Mortuary and was held at 8:30 p.m. on July 16 with the Rev. Terry Mosley officiating.
Interment was at Oak Ridge Memorial Park with the Rev. Steve McDonald and the Rev. Garvan W. Walls, Jr. officiating.
