Obituary of Larry Edward Duncan, 2006:
Larry Edward Duncan, 56, Oliver Springs, died Monday, March 27, 2006, at his home.
He was born April 3, 1949, in Harriman, living in Oliver Springs throughout his childhood.
Following his high school graduation Larry entered the United States Navy serving his country during the Vietnam War. After his military stay he lived in Knoxville for 10 years, later moving to Chattanooga for 20 years. He moved back to Oliver Springs in 2002.
He was a member of Big Mountain Baptist Church.
He retired from the Accounting Department of TVA, after working almost 25 years at the Bull Run and Sequoyah Plants.
Preceded in death by: Father, Lawrence Duncan; sister, Connie Hicks.
Survivors: Daughter, Michelle Roop and husband, Adam of Knoxville; mother, Clonie Patterson Duncan of Oliver Springs; grandchildren, Logan, Timothy, Ariel, and Bethany Roop, all of Knoxville; brother, Ricky Duncan of Oliver Springs; sisters, Sherry Anderson of Hixson, Vickie Duncan of Oliver Springs; nephew, Scotty Anderson of Chattanooga; a host of extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2006, at Sharp Funeral Home with funeral service following at 8 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Joey Cagley officiating.
Burial and graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2006, at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
Sharp Funeral Home of Oliver Springs is in charge of all the arrangements.
