Obituary – Webb, James Harrison, 1974

Clinton Courier-News, 1974:

Heiskell man James Webb dies Monday.  James Harrison Webb, 84, former employee of Clinton Ice Co., died of cancer Monday in St. Mary’s Hospital.

He had been in ill health for some time.  Webb retired as foreman of the Sweetwater Ice Co. many years ago.

He and his wife, Mrs. Edith Melton Webb, resided near Calvary Baptist Church on Raccoon Valley Rd., Heiskell, Rt. 1.

Webb was a longtime member of Longfield Baptist Church.

Besides his wife, he leaves seven sons, Joe Webb of Illinois, Ray Webb of Chattanooga, Wayne and Ernie Webb, both of Powell, Don and Edward Webb, both of Knoxville, and Carl Webb of Dayton, O.; four daughters, Mrs. Reva Pettit of Sweetwater, Mrs. Betty Young of Clinton, Mrs. Judy Rutherford of Heiskell Rt. 1 and Mrs. Illa Moore of Knoxville; one half-sister, Mrs. Lillian Goans of Clinton.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church.  The Rev. Harold Ogle officiated.  Burial was in Longfield.
