Obituary – Donald Dewey Grundy
Donald Dewey Grundy, 47, of Claxton, died Wednesday, May 24, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Knoxville.
Mr. Grundy was a former automobile salesman for the Ronnie Williams Ford & Mazda dealership in Clinton and Oak Ridge. He was born Dec. 29, 1952, in Anderson County. Mr. Grundy was a member of Riverview Baptist Church of Claxton. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Watson Grundy; his son and daughter, Nathan Fredrick Grundy and Megan Beth Grundy, both of Claxton; his mother and stepfather, Mary Ann and Fate Harper of Graham, Fla.; and by his brothers, Sonny Edward Grundy and his wife, Shelly, of Peoria, Ill., Michael McFarland and his wife, Dianne, of Starke, Fla., and John Ruhl and his wife, Marilyn, of Pampa, Texas. Mr. Grundy is also survived by an uncle he considered special, Fred Russell of Clinton; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Betty and Mayford Watson of Claxton; and by several nieces, nephews and other relatives. The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, May 25, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Don Hensley and the Rev. David Watson officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 26, at Riverview Baptist Church Cemetery in Claxton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
