Obituary of Adelaide A. Gregory, 1974:
Death takes county woman on Saturday. Mrs. Adelaide A. Gregory, 73, longtime resident of Oliver Springs Rt. 3, died at 1:10 a.m. Saturday in Oak Ridge Hospital. She suffered from cancer and had been in the hospital for some time.
Mrs. Gregory was a native of Graham County, N. C. She and her late husband, Lee Gregory, owned a farm on Mahoney Rd., Oliver Springs Rt.3, for many years. He died in 1965 and was retired from the K-25 plant in Oak Ridge.
Mrs. Gregory had been staying with Mrs. Frances Long of Oliver Springs Rt.3 since Feb. 1.
She leaves two sisters, Mrs. Flora Ayers of Robbinsville, N. C. and Mrs. Alice Cook of Lincolnton, N. C.; one brother, John Cooper of Robbinsville.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs. Burial was in Anderson Memorial gardens.
