Obituary of Allen (Tubby) Duggins, 1979:
Man dies driving in Arizona. Allen (Tubby) Duggins, 59, of Blockhouse Valley Rd., South Clinton, died Tuesday afternoon of a heart attack while driving to California. He was stricken at a weighing station in Wilcox, Ariz.
He operated the Clock Shop in South Clinton and held weekly auctions there for a number of years.
He was formerly employed at ACE-TV Hardware in Clinton and in earlier years worked at Magnet Mills, Inc. Duggins was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed repairing clocks. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
His wife, Pauline Davis Duggins, died June 29. A native of Oliver Springs, he was the son of the late Millard Allen and Daisy Wright Duggins.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Ann Henry of Claxton; a son, Johnny Duggins of South Clinton; two grandchildren; a brother, Blaine Duggins of Knoxville; and three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Braden and Mrs. Lillian Saffles of Harriman and Mrs. Barbara Langley of Portland, Ore.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Martin Funeral Home chapel in Clinton with the Rev. Samuel D. Dean officiating. Burial will be in Tennessee Valley Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Thursday (tonight) at the funeral home.
