Obituary of Lorene Justice Adcock, 1996:
Lorene Justice Adcock, age 79, a resident of Coalfield, passed away Monday, April 19, 1996, at her home.
Mrs. Adcock was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Lou Rogers Justice; three brothers, Clifford, Hugh, and Oscar Justice; and a daughter-in-law, Helen Adcock.
Survivors: husband of 62 years, Blaine “Toop” Adcock of Coalfield; sons, Sammy Adcock of Coalfield, Ross Adcock and wife Shirley of Clinton, Danny Adcock and wife Louise of Coalfield, and Dale Adcock and wife Laureen of Coalfield; daughters, Linda Hensley and husband Jimmy of Harriman, JoAnn Chapman of Coalfield, and Gail Massengill and husband Gary of Petros; grandchildren, Greg Adcock, Sammy Chapman Jr., Doug Hensley, Duane Adcock, Jason Massengill and Jessica Massengill; sisters, Laura Childs of Coalfield and Clara Belle Falagaro of New Hampshire; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Adcock was born April 29, 1919, in Coalfield. She was a lifelong resident of Coalfield. She was a member of Kellytown Baptist Church in Oliver Springs. She worked at the Coalfield School before retirement.
The family received friends from 6-8:30 pm Tuesday, April 20, at Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs. Funeral services followed in the chapel with the Rev. Tommy Hensley and Pastor Garvin Walls officiating.
Burial and graveside services were 11 am Wednesday, April 21, in Estes Cemetery.
Sharp Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
