Sergeant Killed In Action
 
His grave maker shows he was SGT HQ Troop 9th AR Army.  He lived in Maryville, Tennessee and died in Fort Craig Hospital in Johnson City, Tn January 26, 1941.  He was sprayed with mustard gas in the war and succumbed to the affects of that and died a very young man. He was a mechanic. He was due WWI Victory Medal w\battle clasp for defensive sector and WWI Victory button (bronze), which I will be awarded and will cherish.  My grandfather died when my father was only 7 months old.
