area. His obituary in 1939 indicated he was a "Manager at the

worked there. He is originally from Dane County, Wisconsin, outside
of Madison, WI.
Does Watertown have a Historical Society or some other organization

the 1930’s to look up his address? Anything left of the Carnation

I am searching for a photograph of James Wesley Robertson 1838-1906.
I will pay $100 to the first person who can:
1)produce a photograph of him
2)provide credible evidence that it is him and explain the
photograph's historical path through time
3)provide me with a good quality copy.
Only serious inquiries should be made. I have several identifying
features upon which to base my judgment of a photograph of him.
James Wesley Robertson was born in 1838, in Sumner County, Tennessee,
the son of Nathaniel Robertson 1808-1893 and Nancy Naylor (Padgett)
Robertson 1819-1872. He may have been married to Malissa C. Briggance
in 1858. Ten years later, he was married to Mary Evaline Anthony in
1868. He served as Second Lieutenant in Company K of the 2nd
Tennessee Infantry 1861-1865. He was severely wounded in the Battle
of Shiloh, losing one of his eyes from a bayonet. He also received
shrapnel in his scalp and shoulder at the Battle of Murfreesboro
(Stones River).
James and Mary had the following children:

I'm searching for the parents/family of Bert T SMITH, b. 1835 in
Lebanon. Bert married Sarah Elizabeth "Betty" FAKES, on March 6, 1866
in Wilson County. Betty had a sister named Mary M FAKES, who married
Josephus H SMITH on September 27, 1866. I suspect that JH Smith is a
brother or cousin of Bert Smith.
Bert's marriage record shows his name to be Bertrand SMITH and on
census records he shows up as Burtram, BT, and a host of similar
names. On the 1850 census, he was in the household (as a farm
laborer)
of James HATCHER and wife Lucy A (her maiden name was ELLIS). In
1860,
he is in the household of David YOUNG and his wife, Elizabeth. In
1870, Bert finally has his own household and is listed as B.T. In
1880, he is listed as Burtran T and is on the 1891 Voter's List as
Burt. Please contact me if you suspect a connection. Thanks

Hello,
I am researching the identity of a Confederate infantry company
raised in 1861 from Wilson County called the Wilson Invincibles.
Their flag is at the Museum of the Confederacy in Richmond, VA. We
do not know what regiment this unit was attached to nor who their
commanding officers were. We hope to find this out so we can finally
identify the flag for the museum. We are sure this is a Tennessee
company as the flag was captured in a store in Nashville by the
Federals (where the flag was made most likely).
Any help in identifying this unit would be greatly appreciated.

I'm still looking for proof of when and where my gggrandfather died.
Family notes say William died near Nashville during the Civil War. I
can find him, wife Susannah (Dennis), and son Isaac in the 1860
Wilson County Census, and can find Susannah, Isaac and his wife
Florence (Lillard) in the 1880 Polk County Census. Can find no one
anywhere in the 1870 census. I would appreciate any help in clearing
this up. Some online records say he married a Mary Sherrill about
1864. Was there a divorce? I have proof that Isaac Green, B 1796,
is his father and Isaac Green, B 1857, was his son, but can find no
records about William.

I am researching Andrew WILSON (ca. 1750-1820) who migrated from
Guilford Co. NC to Wilson Co TN ca. 1799 & settled in the western
part of Wilson Co., TN. His wife was the daughter of John ROBERTSON
of Orange Co, NC. Andrew Wilson's children & grandchildern
intermarried with the CLOYD, DONALDSON, SMITH, BANE and THOMPSON
families. My line runs through Thomas Rayburn WILSON (1844-1901)
back to John R. WILSON & Mary DONALDSON of Mt. Juliet, thence to
Andrew WILSON. I have info that indicates Andrew WILSON was a
Revolutionary War Vet who participated in the Battle of Guilford
Court House (1781). Will trade info with any interested party
