WHEELER, Warner E., minister and teacher; born Westminister(sic), Mass., April 2, 1853; son of Merrill I. and Sarah (Gibbs) WHEELER; English descent; educated Racine High School and Oberlin (Ohio) College and Seminary, graduating from latter in 1890 with degree of B.D.; taught school in early life; married Kate A. LORD, 1879, and Kate E. ADAMS, 1904; Superintendent Public Instruction Cumberland County; Mayor Pleasant Hill corporation; taught schools in Wisconsin and Alabama; Principal of Academies in Westminster, Mass.. Williamsburg, Ky., and Pleasant Hill, Tenn.; pastor of Congregational church, Richfield, Ohio, 1887-1890; independent in politics.
