WARING, Roane, lawyer; born in Shelby C0., Tenn., July 20, 1881; English-Scotch descent; son of Thomas Roane and Elizabeth Bell (Ashe) WARING; father’s occupation, merchant; paternal grandparents Robert P. and ___________ (Henry) WARING, maternal grandparents Sheppard M. and Martha (Rogers) ASHE; educated at Christian Bros. College, Memphis, Tenn., University of Va.; graduated from former M.A.; from latter with B.L. degree in 1902; married Grace T. FORD, Oct. 17, 1906; member Business Men’s Club, Chickasaw Guards Club, Memphis, Tenn.; Democrat; enlisted Co. “E,” 2d Tenn. regiment, in 1902, later consolidated with 1st Tenn. regiment; attained rank of Lieut-Col. of 1st Tenn. in 1908; member of Roman Catholic church.
