TROY, Nancy Virginia

Mrs. Nancy Virginia TROY, daughter of Michael and Mahaley BLACK, was born in Ashe County, N.C., February 25, 1868. In her early life her parents migrated to Grayson County, Virginia, where she grew to maturity.

Her youthful convictions led her to the altar of the Church where she came to a deep and clear experience and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church, South.

She met and loved William Henry TROY to whom she was married Dec. 28, 1892. To this union were born five children; four, Virgie, John, Mary and Olin, survive to bless the church and honor their parents.

In 1895 she willingly cast her lot with her husband in the Methodist itinerancy, proving herself a worthy and efficient help meet in a wide and fruitful ministry.

The passing years with their varied experiences added strength, courage and beauty to her religious life which came to a victorious end February 15th, 1940. With tender hands her body was laid to rest in Maple Hill Cemetery, Bluefield, Virginia, beside her faithful husband who had formerly gone to rest. — G. M. MORELAND
