HENDERSON, Pleasant L., physician and surgeon; born Gate City, Va., Jan. 15, 1866; Scotch descent; son of Guyan L. and Rosanah (Tarter) HENDERSON; father’s occupation, farming; educated Emory & Henry College, Va., and Vanderbilt University, Tenn., Bellevue Hospital Medical College, N.Y., and medical department of University of N.Y.; graduated from Emory & Henry College, Va., A.B., June 12, 1889, A.M., June 10, 1892, Bellevue Hospital Medical College, M.D., March 23, 1896; in early life he was a farmer and later taught school; married Bertie May MASSENGILL, April 29, 1896; member Royal Arch Masons, Knights Pythias, Sigma Alpha Epsilon College Fraternity; Democrat, member of M.E. Church, South; engaged in the practice of medicine and surgery in Morristown, Tenn., continuously since May 19, 1896.
