GORDON, Thomas Cage, attorney at law; born at Jackson, La., May 7, 1856; Scotch-Irish descent on mother’s side and Indian on father’s side, being descended from Pocahontas; one of his ancestors, John GORDON, was Captain of spies under Andrew JACKSON; graduated at Centenary College, Jackson, La., with degree of A. B., 1874, and in 1884, the degree of A. M. was conferred upon him; began his business career as a teacher; married Kate LATTA, June 1879; member of K. of P. and of Elks; Democrat; former Circuit Court Clerk of Dyer County; former County Superintendent of Education of Dyer County, and representative of Dyer Co., in the State Legislature; was Colonel on staff of Gov. McMillan; is now in the active practice of law at Dyersburg, Tenn.; Presbyterian.
