ERWIN, William M., educator; born Bedford County, Tenn., September 8, 1881; son of Martin P. and Emma (Young) ERWIN; Scotch-Irish descent; educated Vanderbilt University, Nashville; married Erline MATTHEWS, June 2, 1909; member K. of P., M. W. of A., and also member Lutheran Church; entered Morgan Preparatory School 1908; entered Vanderbilt 1906; taught at Lynchburg 1904; County Superintendent of Public Instruction of Bedford County 1907-1909; now engaged in business, also farming and stock-raising.
