DEADERICK, Arthur V., proprietor of summer resort; born Jonesboro, Tenn., August 2, 1833; German and Scotch descent; son of James W. and Adeline (McDowel) DEADERICK; father was a lawyer; paternal grandparents David and Margaret (Anderson) DEADERICK, maternal grandparents D.E. and Sarah (Shelby) McDOWEL; educated at Jonesboro, Tenn.; in early life was a civil engineer; married Mary Adeline WALKER, July 24,1854; served four years in C.S.A. as 1st Lieutenant of his company; member of the Presbyterian church.
