Also known as the James Madison Walker Cemetery.

This cemetery is located beside the house at 571 4th Avenue, Jonesborough, TN. There are no markers but ten unmarked graves were located. The cemetery is set-aside in the deed. When the current owners moved there in the late 1950’s, there was one military marker for a James Walker, CSA. Later the marker disappeared. This area of Jonesborough has been known as Beulah Land.

DEEDS –
Deed Book 66, Page 206 (1892) – James H. Dosser (by executors) to James Madison Walker (title was bound in March 1889).
Deed Book 189, Page 599 (1932) – R.W. Kirkpatrick, as trustee, to A.A. Rector.
Deed Book 192, Page 315 (1933) – A.A. Rector to Walter L. Sherfey.
Deed Book 360, Page 48 (1963) – June W. Sherfey (widow of Walter L. Sherfey) to R.D. Walker.
Deed Book 366, Page 15 (1963) – R.D. Walker to Romulus Johnson.
Deed Book 383, Page 191 (1965) – Rom & Beatrice Johnson to Douglas & Helen Nicholson.  This is the first deed to note “…..with the exception of whatever rights may be outstanding in connection with a small plot of said ground upon which there are said to be some graves.”
Deed Book 383, Page 193 (1965) – Nicholson ½ interest back to Rom & Beatrice Johnson (same date as 383-191).   Contains graves exception sentence.
Deed Book 648, Page 37 (1987) – Helen Nicholson, (widow of Douglas) her ½ interest back to Rom & Beatrice Johnson.  Rom & Beatrice now hold title.  Contains graves exception sentence.
Deed Book 685, Page 167 (1990) – Rom Johnson to Beatrice Johnson – quit claims his share/rights.  A survey was done one day prior to this deed being executed.  New, but substantially similar metes and bounds.  
Plat Book 18, Page 91 (2002) – Beatrice Johnson, now Saylor, subdivided the property held by DB685/167.  This plat does not indicate a graveyard.  
Plat Book 18, Page 178 (2003) – A replat of above, which now notes a graveyard on what is shown as lot 2.
Roll 720, Image 1231 (2011) – Beatrice Elizabeth Johnson Saylor to Steven and Joann Draper – description in that deed was in error and was corrected by Scrivener’s Affidavit recorded at Roll 753, Image 622 (2012).  Description was meant to reflect only lot 2 conveyed to Draper.  Plat Book 18, Page 178 is made reference to.

BURIALS –
No markers were found during field inspection, however, two death certificates were found with “Jonesboro” noted as burial location.  
James Madison Walker (TNDR #22789) – Born Dec 11, 1851 and died July 2, 1928.
Mary Virginia Walker (TNDR #14190) – Born February 3, 1874 and died May 5, 1927.  Mary was the daughter of James Madison Walker and Jane Wright.
It is presumed, but unproven, that other members of the James Madison Walker family were buried at this location.
