This cemetery is located about four miles directly South of Jonesboro. It is about one quarter mile East of Highway 81 between Jonesboro and Erwin. The farm on which it is located was sold by Henry McCray to David Thomas of Sullivan County on October 28, 1822. On Dec. 5, 1850, Mary C. Thomas married Samuel May. On Jan. 7, 1857, David Thomas sold the farm to his son-in-law, Samuel May., set aside in 1903. This cemetery has perhaps had as many as seventy burials, most of them marked with plain fieldstones or unmarked. The cemetery is covered with brush and trees. Copied by Charles M. Bennett, Sept. 16, 1960.
