FRANCE (JOE) CEMETERY

From volume 2, page 192 – entry 2-74

Joe FRANCE, husband of Sally, and one child are buried on the E. J. Miller farm, located below Clark’s Creek and on Hwy 107.”

From a recollection by Winnie Ratliff –

“………Sally’s husband Joe is buried on the opposite ridge towards Bumpass Cove.”

During a conversation with Harrison Miller, son of Everitt J. Miller and current owner of the subject farm, he recalled hearing of a grave on the farm, on the south side of highway 107, however, he did not know where it may be located, or who may have been buried there. The property is too large and rugged to perform a random search.

The ridge at the southern end of the E. J. Miller farm would not be the same ridge as the one towards Bumpus Cove. It appears, at least for the present, that the existence and location of any grave(s) on the southern portion of the E. J. Miller farm have escaped detection.

This entry is clearly about a separate burial ground than the Henderson Clark graveyard, which is located on the northern side of highway 107 on the Miller farm.
