HILL

I'm looking for information on ASA HILL. My ancestor has been eluding his Hill descendents for many years! I recently read an article that spoke of an Asa Hill, son of Isaac, who left Warren Co in the late 1840's absconding with cattle and money belonging to friends and relatives. Suits were filed and his property was sold and divided up between the victims. I'm hoping to obtain information on this Asa HILL which will help me determine if he was the one I've been searching for. Anyone wth information please help!

HASTINGS

HASTINGS/ Looking for first names of my great grandparents. Their children were Maggie HASTINGS, b. 1800, in McMinnville, twin boys William Clinton (my grandfather) and Wilburn H. HASTINGS, b. 15 Jan. 1887, in McMinnville. Father was killed in coal mine in 1896 at age 44; mother died of Tuberculosis in 1898 at age 40. The three children were moved to Murfreesboro and grew up there. Maggie and William lived, died and are buried there. Wilburn later lived and died in Nashville. Wilburn's death record shows his parents to be Will Hastings and Sarah Huddleston. If he ever knew, my grandfather (William) never told anyone who their parents were. Has anyone run across any information on a coal mine accident in Warren or White County about the year 1896? Any clues will be appreciated.

IVIE, IVY

John IVY/IVIE is my ggrandfather. 1880 MS census says his father was born in TN. The 1880 Itawamba Co. MS census records (same district) shows John's family and also a Joseph IVIE who was born in TN. Joseph's wife's name is Nancy. He has Jane BRIGHT (age 41) listed is their household as his daughter. I checked 1820 TN census records for IVIE and BRIGHT and the only county with both names was Warren County. Do you have anything that connects John IVIE born apxy 1856 as the son of Joseph IVIE born apxy 1815? Do you know Nancy's maiden name? They had moved out of TN by 1839 as Jane was born in AL that year. I lived in Warren County (McMinnville) for about five years. I wish I knew then what I know now.
