I am seeking information on land grants in Warren county assigned to George Roden. On 28 Oct 1815, George was assigned Land Grant #7876 (100 ac. on W. side Rocky River.) On 3 Dec 1817, he was assigned Land Grant 15341 (40 ac. on Rocky River.) On 1 Sep 1823, George sold all of the second grant and some other property to James Wood. George was living in Blount Co, AL, at this time. I believe George is my gggg-grandfather. The property sold in 1823 was adjacent to William Roden's 106 1/4 ac. preference right. I would like any information on these and other Rodens who were living in Warren county at that time and information or a reference source for determining more precisely where these properties were located.

My 2nd great-grandparents, Samuel Right Brookshire and Rachel Hill Nicholas were reportedly married in Rutherford Co, TN 1821. Later they were in Warren Co., until 1850 when they were in Coffee Co. This may have been due to boundary changes rather than a move. After 1850 the family moved to MO. I know nothing about Rachel Hill Nicholas except that she was born 1805 in GA. I know there was a Nicholas family in Warren County, but I have not been able to connect Rachel to them.

Interested in the early Northcut family of Warren Co., TN. John Northcut is established in the DAR as a Revolutionary soldier, but also said to have fought in the War of 1812 and died at the Battle of New Orleans. There seems to be confusion here and little documentation. What proof of his death and of his children exists? How was he related to other early Northcuts in Warren County. Various accounts of this family are contradictory. Need help in order to fit him into the larger Northcut family of Virginia.
