Daniel Smoot Anderson, son of James Anderson and Elizabeth Smoot of Warren County Tennessee. His wife was Olive (Ollie) Melton. Daniel was born 10 Dec 1843 in Warren Co. and died 15 Mar 1923 in Fannin County Texas. He married Ollie on 27 September 1866 in Warren County. Daniel’s parents both died in Warren County during 1846. Daniel and his other siblings were raised by their oldest brother, Elijah Anderson.

Daniel’s g-granddaughter Ann Williams writes, He and two of the brothers fought for the Confederacy, and one brother fought for the Union. “Grandpa Anderson” never again uttered the name of the Union brother.

The quilt pictured on this page was made by Ollie and brought it to Texas in their covered wagon.
