FOUNTAIN SPRING CEMETERY

Fountain Spring Cemetery is on Old Shelbyville Road near the Coffee County line. In fact the census takers from both Warren County and Coffee County took census on some of the folks there, but it is in Warren County.
The photos are in mostly alphabetical order with husbands and wives placed side by side according to our research.

James William Hall 17 Oct 1860-14 Oct 1921

James William Hall, single, son of J.H.B. and America Lavender Hall.

Martha A. Hall, daughter of J.H.B. and America Lavender Hall.

Although not found in any census record it would seem that this is a child of J.H.B. and America Lavender Hall. The 1900 and 1910 census reports American Hall as the mother of 5 with only 1 child alive.

This new stone was evidently placed after the reading of the cemetery for the Warren County Cemetery Book, Vol. 1, as the Lemmons are not listed in Fountain Spring Cemetery. She was the daughter of John and Elizabeth ______ Morgan, Revolutionary War veteran. John Lemmons and Elizabeth Morgan were married 7 Jul 1807 in Montgomery County, VA, where both were born.

Angeline ______ Nelson was born circa 1828 in TN and has not been found beyond the 1870 US Census where she found as a widow in Summitville, Coffee Co., TN. Daniel Nelson was born circa 1825 in TN and was not found in the 1870 US Census.

Daniel and Angeline Nelson had a son William in the 1850 and 1860 census. He is a twin to John born circa 1850. He nor John are in the 1870 census with her and the other five children - James, 22; Elizabeth, 18; Robert, 15; Andrew, 12; and Sarah, 9. All born in TN.

Anderson Lafayette Taylor, 1 Jan 1805, Patrick, VA - 7 Jan 1892, Warren Co., TN. The son of David Taylor, he wed, 15 Jan 1832 in Patrick, VA, Nancy Canady, 8 Dec 1808, VA - 6 May 1892, Warren Co., TN. She was the daughter of William and Martha Wright Canady.

Virgil S. Taylor, 26 Feb 1839, Patrick, VA - 28 July 1861, Camp Trousdale, Sumner Co., TN
in service of the Confederate States of America, son of Anderson L. and Nancy Canady Taylor.

M.J. West, died Jan. 31, 1911, age 64 Yrs. & 6 Mo. 1900 US Census gives her birthdate as July 1848. Matilda Jane Rains, d/o of Larkin and Elizabeth ______ Rains, w/o John W. West.
