Last rites were held Dec. 28 at the Love-Cantrell Funeral Home Chapel for Alice Clarice Banks, 64, of Smithville. Mark Miller officiated. Burial followed in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Banks died Dec. 22 at Centennial Medical Center following a brief  illness. A native of Lee County, she was a member of the Prosperity Baptist Church and a retired caretaker at the Webb House in Smithville. She was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Emma Irene Rains Taylor. Banks is survived by four sons: Eric Banks of Arkansas, Mike of Liberty, Gary of Murfreesboro and Troy Banks of Woodbury; four brothers: Franky, Ray, Thomas and David Glover all of Alabama; four sisters: Ann Smith and Patricia Baswell of Alabama, Earline Talbolt of Mississippi, and Betty Leonhardt of Texas; and seven grandchildren. Pallbearers were Charles Banks, Hubert Brown, Donnie Mangum, Owen Smith, Paul Sanders and Joe Laboe. Love Cantrell Funeral Home in Smithville was in charge of arrangements.
