Retired Farmer Dies In White

William Edward Austin, retired Hickory Valley farmer, died at his home Friday evening at 10:05 o’clock, following three days’ illness. He was 89.  Services were held at Bethlehem church in White county. Billy Norris, minister of the Sparta Church of Christ, officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. A native and lifelong resident of White county, Mr. Austin was born June 10, 1862.  He was a son of Edward Austin and Mary Lou Frazier Austin. He was married to Miss Carrie Haston, who survives. Mr. Austin was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors, besides his wife, are four sons, William Austin, Doyle, Charles Austin, Hickory Valley, Van Austin, Detroit, Mich., and Carrol Austin, Sparta. Arrangements were by High Funeral Home.
