The next Democratic National Convention will be held in Balti- more, Md.

We sincerely hope you will make good those New Year resolutions;  to weaken is to admit your weakness.

The Election Commissioners have called the pike election for Feb 10th 1912, which call will appear in the fall in the next issue of this paper.

In the next issue of the Spencer Times will appear the announce- ment of W.J. (Billie) Worthing for County Trustee.  August election will soon be here and if you want to get before the people you will find the columns of this paper the surest route.  Why not have your announce- ments appear in the next issue.

Forward Watch

Now we join hands for the circle of 1912 and with your aid, the 3rd year of This Spencer Times will be the bet yet. Its on a substantial basis, representing ONLY the best for this town and county.  We believe in an up to date, thrifty, citizenship, honest in purpose, but with an eye single to the advancement of this "hen pecked" county, made so by the "set stills" for half  a century of her existence.  Join with us and we'll pull away from the "stool of do nothing" and ...  [illegible]

...  [illegible] Monday in 1912.
J.M. Haston was re-elected Chairman, and R. Russell Chair- man Pro-tem.  County Sup't. M.C. Sparkman's 1911 contract was renewed and he will receive $400 for his services.
Dr. Willie Barnes was elected County Physican.  Mr. Barnes has recently located at Spencer and is making a fine impression.  The following are the Road Com- missioners for the ensuing two year term, to wit:    W.E. John- son, Lynville Sparkman, R.L. Hollandsworth, J.J. Haston, James Walling, Monroe Walling, C.M. Clark and Jas. Clark.  The tax levy and road working re- main the same as last year, ex- cept the Commissioners were ordered to work any time during the year the roads need the work instead of waiting until the sum- mer months when propably the roads don't need work.
The Court accepted the prop- osition of the Great Falls Power Co. which was presented by F.H. Yost, the promoter of the pro- ject.  At first the Court failed to see their way clear  to accept, but when a counter proposition was presented which Mr. Yost gladly accepted the Court was unanimous in  its acceptance.
The plans and specifications of the contemplated bridges, which is the biggest bridge building proposition ever offered in the South, were designed by the Nashville Bridge Co.  Upon their plans without a single change, not only did Van Buren, but Warren and White Counties as well, accepted the proposition and plans as presented by the Company.

The Good Road's meeting to be held at Sparta on the 18 inst. should be attended by  a good delegation from this County and join the march at Doyle for Sparta.
