Trying to determine birthdate/birthplace of my grandfather James Allan MCCORMICK. Supposedly born March 1894. Married Lydia DODSON in 1916 in White County. He died March 1934 and is buried at Frasier Chapel. According to my grandmother his father was John MCCORMICK who
married Susie MEDLEY. Clayton, Eliza Jane, William, Flora, Arie, John, Ruthie and/or Leona were bro/sis. He supposedly was born in Van Buren or Warren County.

MCCOY

My McCoy ancestors resided in VanBuren County from sometimein the 1860's until the mid 1880's. While death and burial location has been found for many family members, I am at a loss for my gg grandmother, Celina/Selina (Adkins) McCoy, wife of Joseph McCoy. I suspicion she died around 1886, give or take a couple of years, and I believe the family still resided in Van Buren County, near Spencer, at that time. Does anyone have or know of any resources where I may find the date of her death and her burial location? Thanks so much, Lois Card lcard@reninet.com

NEAL, NEIL, O'NEAL, ONEAL, O'NEILL,

Hello, My name is Bruce Daniels and I am researching the O'NEAL family. I have learned that JAMES O'NEAL owned land on Pauls Creek near the Goodspur (a southern spur off the Blue Ridge Mountain). It appears that he later conveyed this land to his JOHN in 1815. I do not know the exact location of this land. It also appears JAMES lived on this land when it was in Patrick County, VA and when it later became part of Grayson County, VA (1810). I don't know who JAMES married, but it appears his children were JOHN, JONATHON, SAMUAL, and perhaps HANNAH. I also don't know what became of him or his children. I would enjoy working with anyone with knowledge of him or is working this line. The Patrick Co query host suggested posting in VanBuren Co. TN because of the number of researchers in this county working on these surnames. Sure hope I don't waste anyones time with this assumption.

OVERTURF, SCOTT

One of my gggrandmothers was Mary (Polly) Overturf. My gggrandfather was Henry Scott, father of Mary's first two children, I can not find any other reference to him. Their son, Richard Overturf/Scott married (?) Mary Ann Shockley. Mary Ann's mother had been married before. The 1860 census show, her sons names are given followed by a Mc. My mother thought that her grandmother had been a McGuire(actually Shockley) was it because her father referred to his McGuire uncles? I don't know and unfortunately there is no one left to ask. I have put an ad in the Middle Tn Genealogy paper looking for Scott descendents but so luck so far. I have been in communication with other researchers but they have been unable to help me on this. Thanks for your help. Pat
