Dr Sirs         I am at this time in a bustle as we are about leaving this place for the planes. Our company are all here but four wagons that will be in this day we think. I shall enclose Judge Campbells $100 note in this letter as this is my last opportunity. -- Boys all well & in fine spirits -- look for no more till I get to ft Hall but if I can write sooner I will. the fifty dollars I got of the Judge I shall use. I have braking mule today feel tierd But good health -- Many of the Boys straped -- I shall have enough But two price for evry thing.

Notes:
        Fort Hall Idaho (near Pocatello) was built in 1834 on the banks of the Snake River. First owned by Columbia River Fishing and Trading Company, it was sold to the Hudson Bay Company in 1837. It fell into disrepair and was dismantled in 1863. Fort Hall was a major stop along the Oregon Trail (a.k.a. Oregon-California Trail) for settlers seeking the Oregon Territory and for those Argonauts seeking the California gold fields.
