McKinney of the other part, both of the County of Hawkins, State of Tennessee: Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Four hundred and twenty five dollars to me in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, I do hereby bargain, sell, alien and convey unto the said Charles J. McKinney all the right, title, interest and claim, which I have in and to a certain negro boy named Liberty aged about seventeen years, which said boy by these presents I hereby sell and convey to the said McKinney and his heirs and assigns forever. I also do hereby warrant the said Boy to be sound, healthy, of good mind and a slave for life, free from the lawful, right, claim and demand of all other persons whatever, all of which I warrant and defend forever.
