                                               Dixons Springs  May 17th 1803
Sir
          I have only Two minutes to write as the post is now arriving David
Wardin on his way to Holston Borowed 3 dollars of me you will please call on
him for it
          I am still at Dixons Springs but how long I shall remane there I do
not know as Mr Allen intends to move his store to Nashville so soon as he
returns  the news of this place is much as usual here  we still take our
_____(?)---John Sohn(?) married Miss ____(?)  Miss Lutta(?) is still
unmarried  the people has married me to Miss Jones or talked so much about
it that they have made the little thing think it will be done  Should I leave
this place you shall hear from me---the _____(?) of a post rider is now cursing
me for detaining him-Allen has not as yet returned  I have a letter from him
dated Philadelphia 15 April  he then informed me of his intention of leaving
this place-I must quit for want of time
