HomeCemeteriesJones Cemetery (Summerville Road)

Located behind a house between Oakleaf Drive and Summerville Road.  There is nothing left of this cemetery.  An old transcription found at the Kingsport Library provided a list of names from the Jones family Bible of those interred there.  In the 1970s there were two marked graves and the rest were fieldstones.  I was told that by 1977, the tombstones and fieldstones had all been removed.  The information given below was given to me by a Jones family researcher.

NOTE – ONLY ONE TOMBSTONE FROM THIS CEMETERY HAS BEEN RECOVERED.

  1. Sharon,
I know the people who are buried here. You may contact my email for more info.
Thank You for posting the cemetery records!

    • Do you know if these Jones’ are related to the Jones’ in the Jones Cemetery infront of Wal Mart on Main Street? I am going to go take pictures in that cemetery on Sunday. It would be wonderful if we could join the two lines of Jones. I just decided to go and find out about the small cemetery since not many people know about it. I got permission from the owner to go in and take pictures, clean up and debris and possibly clean the stones with water and a very soft brush to give them back their beauty.
