  1. Do you know where the Yoakley family came from?
They built a log cabin near the cemetery, date unknown. I would like to know more about it.
Thank you for any information you have.

  2. Thank you for this information. This is my mother’s father’s family lineage. About 25 years ago we had our first family reunion in the area and enjoyed a private tour of this cemetery. There was a house down the hill from the cemetery that we were told was still Yoakley owned, but was rented at the time, so we couldn’t see it. Loved learning about the family, because my mothers parents died when mom was young and she didn’t know very much about the family. Her cousin had traced the family back to the 1500 or 1600’s to the isle of kent, off the coast of Wales. Apparently also, there was in England, a “home for unwed mothers”, founded in the 1700’s, which was still in business at that time (25 years ago). It was a very well respected charity then and now. I would love to learn more and see pictures of the cemetery today and even revisit sometime.

  3. Do you know the heritage of Peter Yoakley Sr and his Father John Yoakley? I’m the Grandson of David Hastings Yoakley (maternal side) and have been trying to find out more about him and his genealogy. Thank you for any information possible.
