He was born April 11, 1876 in Chestnut Mound, Smith Co., Tennessee. He died 1 May 1966 in
Texico, Curry Co., New Mexico and is buried in the Lawn Haven Cemetery in Clovis, NM.
On the 25 June, 1902 he married Florence Sloan in Bonham, Fannin Co., Texas.
Pop was a loving father, and as honest as the day is long. He was a farmer by trade but
was also a good carpenter. He and his brother in law Henry Sloan built the first court
house in Parmer County Texas. In the late 1920's he opened a grocery store in Clovis, NM.
This was during the depression and he ultimately sold out and moved back out on the farm,
down the road from his two sons, near the Pleasant Hill Community.
Charley and Florence had 5 children, one of whom is still living. They were:

Nannie Marie Clark b: 6 Apr 1906 Fannin Co., Texas
Maurice Clark b: 14 Nov 1910 Hollene Territory (now New Mexico)
