Chestnut Mound United Methodist Church
The Chestnut Mound United Methodist Church is located east of the
community of Chestnut Mound on Highway 70. The date of organizaation
is uncertain but is thought to be in the early 1890's or before. The
present building was started about 1911 and has been added to and
improved over the years into its beautiful condition today. A active
cemetery is located at the rear of the church that is maintained by
the families of those buried there. The first burials were in 1896.
