Note: Lewis Fletcher, when a young boy in 1865, observed the Home Guard marching
two Confederate soldiers named Gillihan and Phillips. Shortly thereafter these two
soldiers were killed by their captors. Lewis Fletcher helped with the burial and building
of the rock wall around their graves in the Tom Hollow which is still standing today.
