In an 1887 affidavit supporting an application for Citizenship in theCherokee Nation, Frances BROWN KING, wife of Stokes KING, ofSequatchie Co., TN and her sister, Jane BROWN MOONEYHAM, possibly thewife of Jesse Mooneyham, also of Sequatchie Co., TN stated they werethe daughters of Thomas BROWN who was one half Cherokee and that theyalso were one half Cherokee. They tell of living on a reservation inSouth Carolina bef. 1806 when they moved with their father and othersto Warren Co., Ohio. From there they moved back to TN ca. 1809. Does anyone have information on these families or on the places theylived in South Carolina and Ohio? These families lived on top ofCumberland Mountain near the Grundy Co. TN line.

KENNEDY, SWANN

Searching for information on my grandfather, William KENNEDY (b: abt1872). According to the marriage bond, William KENNEDY (he signedthe bond Willie) married my grandmother Ida SWANN in Warren Co., inFeb 1904. According to the 1910 Census for Warren Co., he was listedas Will P. KENNEDY. This census listed Will, M.J.I.A (Mary Jane IdaArvilla-my grandmother), and their two daughters...my dad wasn't bornat the time of the census. That is all I can find on William. Mygrandmother married a Robert Marshall DAVENPORT (between 1910 and1922) and lived in Rutherford Co., for the rest of her life. Wearen't sure if William and Ida divorced or he died. I am trying to locate information about Alexander L. HALL (b. 1810)who lived in the Walden Ridge area in either Sequatchie Co. orHamilton Co. between 1830-1850. He was married to Elizabeth ? whodied in childbirth giving birth to Alexander, Jr. in 1837. Any helpwill be greatly appreciated.

KING, TURNER, HALE

I'm doing research on my grandfather's family. My grandfather wasWalter Melvin TURNER. His parents were John Oscar Turner and MaryEtta KING Turner. I'm really interested in the King side of thefamily. I have Mary Etta's parents as William Richard King andFrances HALE King but that's as far as I've gotten. I'd really loveto find out if Mary Etta King had an Indian name. I've got a formthat I can send in where she is on the Guion Miller Roll but I needher Indian name before I can send it in. Any information on theKings or Hales would really be appreciated.
