(After the initial surveys there were many parcels and tracts that were not owned by anyone due to the metes and bounds method of surveying. Those small tracts were later granted by the states of Kentucky or Tennessee depending on where they fell relevant to the old Walker survey line.)

         State of Tennessee No 25263. To all to whom this presents shall come Greeting Know ye that by virtue of part of certificate No 3146764 Dated the 30th and 12th days of December 1814 issued by the Commissioners for West Tennessee to James Davis & Edmond Jennings for 640 acres each and entered on the 7th day of Apl 1815 by NO 14837. There is granted by the said State of Tennessee unto Thomas Payne assignee of the said Jas Davis and Edw’d Jennings a certain tract or parcel of Land, containing Twenty eight acres by survey bearing date 3rd day of May 1815 lying in the first district in Robertson County on the waters of the Sulphur Fork and bounded as follows to wit; Beginning at an ash and walnut John Pikes south east corner of his ten acre entry running east eighty poles to a poplar Thence west with said line eighty poles to a poplar Thence North fifty six poles to two post oaks on Phillips line Thence west with said line eighty poles to a stake Pikes corner Thence south with his line fifty six poles to the Beginning. With hereditaments and appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said Thomas Payne and his heirs forever in witness whereof William Carroll Governor of the State of Tennessee, hath hereunto set his hand and caused the Great Seal of the State to be affixed, at Nashville, on the fifth day of March in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven and of the Independence of the United States the fifty first.
