         This Indenture made the Thirteenth day of June one thousand seven hundred and ninety six, between Phillip Tramel of the State of Kentucky and County of Logan of the one part and Joseph Pain of the County of Sumner and Territory of the United States of America, South of the Ohio River, of the other part; Witnesseth that for an in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred Dollars in hand paid, on or before the sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said Phillip Tramel doth hereby acknowledge have bargained and sold in fee simple and confirmed to him the said Joseph Pain, his heirs executors administrators and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing Seventy acres situated in the County of Sumner aforesaid Beginning at black oak and mulberry on Phillip Tramel line, thence North along said Tramel's line ten chains to a honey locust on the North bank of Creek, then up Creek North Seventy degrees East eleven chains to the mouth of a branch, then West twenty one chains to a stake, then South sixteen chains to a stake, then seventeen chains and fifty links to a black oak, then South with Daniel Holman line twenty two chains to a black oak thence seventeen chains and fifty two links to the first station, together with all houses, lots, woods, ways, waters, water courses, runs, minerals, with all the appurtenances and benefits that belong to said land also all the state right title that doth now or ever after appertain t the same free of all rents, Mortgages, dowers, and hindrances of any person or persons having and claim, right, or title to the same. To have and to hold all the tract or parcel of land with every benefit belonging to the same to the proper use of the said Pain, his heirs, executors, administrators or assigns to their proper use forever to the true meaning and intention of the same and I the said Phillip Tramel do warrant and forever defend from me, my heirs, executors, administrator and assigns and all other persons t the said Joseph Pain, his heirs, executors, administrators or assigns, to them and to their proper use forever.
