         I Solomon Payne for and in consideration of four hundred and fifty dollars have this day bargained sold and transferred to B. F. Payne and his heirs forever a certain tract of land lying and being in the State of Tennessee Robertson County and Civil district No.1, containing by estimation four and one fourth acres, be the same more of less, and bounded as follows: Beginning at two small black jacks Bolivar Payne’s northwest corner, and running west 226 ˝ poles to a rock, Melissa Barry’s northeast corner, thence South 24 ˝ poles to a rock; Then East 26 ˝ poles to a stake, thence North 24 ˝ poles to the Beginning; To have and to hold the same to the said B.F. Payne his heirs and assigns forever; I do covenant with the said B.F. Payne that I am lawfully seized of said land, have a good right to convey The same, and that the same is unencumbered. I do further covenant and bind myself my heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to the said land and every part thereof, to the said B.F. Payne his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons, whatever, This 7th May 1868.

         Personally appeared before me R.H. Murphey, Clerk, of the County Court of said county, B.L. Wilson and A.F. Barry, subscribing Witnesses to the attached deed who being first duly sworn depose and say that they are personally acquainted with the within named Solomon Payne, the bargainer, and that he acknowledged the same in their presence to be his act and deed for the purposes therein contained.
Witness my hand at office, this 4th day of March 1872.
