February 24th 1814

This indenture made this 14th day of July 1813 between William Norris & Nicholas Norris of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee of the one part and E. T. Paine of the other part, witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for & in consideration of the said Paines services as an attorney in defending the said parties of the first part against to criminal prosecution instituted against them in County Court of Robertson, have bargained and sold (infroffed) & conveyed & by these presents do bargain and sell (infroffed) & convey to the said party of the second part his heirs & assigns forever all that certain piece or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County and State aforesaid lying on Brown's Fork waters of Carrs Creek being the tract of land near which the said parties now reside & occupy containing by estimation 86 acres to have and to hold the said parcel of land with all the appurtenances thereto belonging to the said E. T. Paine his only proper use & behoof his heirs and assigns forever & come the said parties of the first part do warrant and forever defend the title to the same in testimony whereof I have hereunto set our hand and seal the day & year above written.
