         This indenture made this Twenty seventh day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & eight, between Samuel McMurry of the County of Robertson & State of Tennesssee of the one part, and John Morris of the State & county aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Samuel McMurry for & in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said John Morris the receipt & payment whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath given granted, Bargained, sold, Aleined, inproffed, conveyed & confirmed and by these presents, doth give, grant, bargain, sell, alined, infroff, convey & confirm unto the said John Morris, his heirs & assigns forever, all that certain tract or parcil of Land, lying & being in Robertson County on the Sulphur Fork of Red River, beginning at a maple on the bank of the creek on the North side, thence up the creek as it meanders one hundred & fifty four poles, to a sugar tree, thence North eighty nine poles to a white oak saplin, on the waggon road, thence with said road North thirty seven degrees west twenty five & half poles, to an elm, thence west seventy poles, to an ironwood & sweet gum, thence south sapling maple & oak at miniature poles, in all twenty one & half poles to an ash at Phillip’s fence, thence westwardly with said fence four two poles, to an Ironwood & ash, thence south one hundred & eighty five poles to the beginning containing in the whole one hundred acres, being a part of a tract of six hundred & forty acres granted by the State of North Carolina to William Grimes, Grant bearing April 17th 1786, & numbered six to have & to hold, the aforesaid tract of land with all & singular, the rights, numbers and appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in way appertaining, to the only proper use & behoof of him the said John Morris, his heirs and afsigns forever. And the said Samuel McMurry for himself & his heirs, do warrant & defend the aforesaid Land & premisis to him the said John Morris, in heirs & assigns forever, in fee simple against the lawfull claim or claims of all person or persons lawfully claiming. In Witness whereof the said Samuel McMurry hath hereunto set his hand & affixed his seal the day & year first above written.
