         This Indenture made this ___ day of July in the yer of our Lord one thousand eight hundred, between William Grimes of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee of the one part, and Samuel McMurry of the County and State aforesaid of the other part, witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred Dollars, by the said Samuel McMurry to the and William Grimes in hand paid, the Receipt and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said William Grimes hath given, granted, bargained, sold, alined, conveyed and confirmed & by these presents, do give, grant, bargain, sell, aline, convey & confirm unto the said Samuel McMurry his heirs & assigns, forever, one certain tract or parcel of land, lying & being in the County of Robertson on the Sulphur Fork of Red River, Beginning at a May pole, in the bank of the creek on the south side, thence up the creek as it meanders one hundred and fifty four poles, to a sugar tree, thence North eighty nine poles to white oak sapling on the Waggon Road, thence with the said road north thirty seven degrees West twenty five and a half poles, to an elm, thence West twenty poles to an ironwood & sweet gum, then South passing a may pole and ash at nineteen poles, in all thirty one and a half poles to an ash at Phillip’s fence, thence Westwardly with the said fence four two poles to an iron wood, thence South one hundred and eighty five poles to the Beginning, containing in the whole one hundred acres, being part of a tract of six hundred and forty acres, Granted by the State of North Carolina to William Grimes, Grant bearing date April 17th 1786 and numbered 6, with the appurtenances, lying & being & situate as aforesaid with _____________ & every of their rights, numbers & appurtenances aforesaid to belonging or in any wise appertaining, to have and to hold the said one hundred acres of land, with the appurtenances, & all rights and priviledges & improvements to the same, in my wise belonging to him the said Samuel McMurry his heirs & assigns forever and the said William Grimes for himself his heirs, Executors, admin’s, doth hereby covenant and agree to & ____ the said Samuel McMurry that the said Samuel McMurry may forever hereafter peacably enjoy, leave, hold, occupy & possess the aforesaid granted premises and that he the said William Grimes his heirs & C will warrant said forever defend the aforesaid land & premises to the said Samuel McMurry his heirs & assigns, against all lawful claims & demands of all and every person or persons whatsoever, whereby the premises before mentioned may be affected, or in cumbered, contrary to the true intent and meaning of these presence. In witness whereof the said William Grimes hath hereunto set his hand & affixed his seal the day & year first above written.
